Not entirely related to GZG, but since lots of people on this list are
interested in this sort of thing, I thought I'd ask... (apologies to those who
aren't!)

Does anyone know the current status of:

Minatures for the Babylon 5 Wars game. The Babylon Project.

Are any of these currently available in the States or the UK?

Thanks for your time.

Not yet. I don't have handy the Babylon Project URL but I know they have a
webpage out there somewhere. As for the B5Wars game, AOG has a couple webpages
for it or related to it. Here are the URLs I have for them (I think one of the
URLs is bad; not sure):

    http://members.gnn.com/agent1/b5wpress.htm
    http://members.gnn.com/agent1/aog.html
    http://members.gnn.com/agent1/b5wnews.htm

You can find the status of the miniatures on one of these pages.

Hope this helps! Mk

If memory serves, Babylon Project was last announced as a released Dec. 31,
'96, but last playtested locally Dec. 28, '96.

Babylon 5 Wars has one miniature master sculpted and approved, I believe, with
more arriving soon in the next month or two.

There are the Micro Machines B5 mini's. Sadly they are all in different scales
so when placed on the table next to each other look totally wrong.

The RPG from Chameleon Eclectic will not be officially released in the UK
AFAIK. You will have to contact a US friend to send it over.

Slums may well be breeding-grounds of crime,
but middle-class suburbs are incubators of apathy and delirium.

Well, that goes for *any* of the MicroMachines. They weren't catering
to us when they made 'em. :-/

When I recently checked the AOG website, they mentioned the game and minis
might not be released to March 97. They are having delays with game testing
and getting higher quality sculptures for the minis.

That message came out after the masters were fininshed or the second round of
playtesting started. According to AOG, if this next round of playtesting is
successful they might be able to get it out early. More news as it comes....

They also look very poor quality, which is why I've never bought them. A shame
really.

I heard this from my local game shop on Saturday - which was mainly
the reason I posted the questions (and also I have a friend popping out to
Denver this week, who would have been given a big shopping list if anything
was available in the US:)). Is there hard evidence to support this (ie CE have
said so), or is it just rumour?

Thanks everyone the replies.

According to the information I've managed to get:

1)The Chameleon Eclectic edition will not be available in Europe. Warner Bros.
Europe have not given them a distribution licence.

2)Titan books will be producing a European version of the game. Somewhat
reminiscent of the old GW reprints of Runequest, CoC, Traveller.

3)Titan will (probably, but it's already being advertised) be producing a B5
magazine. This magazine will likely have game related article.
