I was referring to the colonial wars thing with the British marching into
Afghanistan with their trusty Ghurkas in the vanguard. I do happen to know
where Nepal is...........Don

LOL. Ah, okay;) Well, that's not a very good argument, though. Because then
you should already have gotten to recruit Ghurka's, as the Brits took them to
the WW1 trenches as well, just for one;) Besides, did the Russians get to
recuit Ghurka's after Afghanistan?

*grin*

Derk, Besides it is a training continuity issue, since we Yanks are going to
fall up under the NAC (AKA Tuffley Canon Ch 11 "The begining") soon anyway it
is a good idea if we get accustomed to working with the rest of the forces!
You know stiff legged marching and open handed saluting ect.........) *Big
Grin* Now ducking from incoming rocks!

LOL

1) That's what Mark 82 slicks are for... and snipers.

Mark 82 slicks - basic 500 lb 'dumb' bomb. (I'm an ex-Zoomie - Uh,
USAF
- for those who don't know and ex-USAR 76Y (Army - supply type -
reserves, long story).

And yes, Zoomie technically is a 'negative' term but I was a medic so I
don't care - Are *your* shots up to date? <grin>

2) One clip = one enemy KIA = one live me.... That's decent math in my book.

Pardon the late response. I've been out playing soldier (accumulating various
cuts and bruises, shredding a uniform past the point of repair, acquiring a
sleep disorder, and eating square eggs).
So I've got all 300+ messages lined up in my mailbox.
But in answer to your question, I will, at your
convenience, demonstrate my ability to hit a man-sized
target at up to 300m with either an M-4 or M-16A2.
You are invited to observe from the position of target dummy.

With my current weapon (M-249 SAW*) I can handle you
at the range at which I can accurately resolve a
human-sized image with the naked eye through sights
(shorter than you'd think). Of course, that's with a burst. Single shot you
have to be closer and hold still a bit.

To hit you with a 9mm, you have to be a good deal closer, but if you get
within effective range I have no doubt in my ability to hit you.
