Forgive the question, but can anyone give me the website of the old list archives? I seem to have lost it...

Is it normal for the archives to be almost 2 weeks behind? Can someone resend me page for the GZG stuff that was just posted. Netscape croaked on me right after I deleted the message.

I know that lately (and moreso currently) he has been swamped-busy, much like I've been feeling, and his update times may be delayed because of this (last I checked he had gotten a promotion, made head of a department, but had zero help under him, so is being both manager-type and grunt at the same time). So this isn't automatic? I would be willing to donate a set of perl scripts to do this from the digests if anyone is willing to host it (unfortunately I can't). Oh, Unix of course.

I would be willing to donate a set of I don't know how much of it Jerry has automated. I'm admittedly speaking from impressions from what Jer has said in the past. Though I would presume he has some of it automated (right, Jerry??) Mk

I'd be willing to host an automated archive system (and have the unix box and
disk to do it), but it would have to be really automated. Like takes in a
message and the rest (index, update the web pages, etc) automatically. If
you've got something like that (and it running in perl or some other language
that isn't computer specific), I'd love to hear about it. I've got a couple
other lists that could use it, and I'm in the process of radically expanding
the amount of disk I have for the majordomo fed archives.

Hi folks, I'm on vacation at the moment, which is why I've been slow in responding to this thread... Anyways.... right now, I save all the files using the Netscape mail filter (ugh), then run it through a bunch of perl scripts to build indicies and such. I do a final check for accuracy, and then publish the whole thing to the external website. I've thought of a way to completely automate the process, but I need the time to code it, which, unfortunately, I don't have. And, admittedly, what I've done is a hack. I'm not proud of it, but it works. (8-) I can't automate it with the freeware stuff I've seen out there... odd firewall policies means we have stuff flying hither and tither, which is why it was easier to just use Netscape two years ago, and I've been a victim of that design decision ever since. (8-) I usually update once a week, but given the glut of stuff that they've given me, I was going semi-monthly for a while there. I'll do an update as soon as I get back from vacation, on Dec. 29th, assuming that my Inbox hasn't exploded... (8-( J.
