What? These guys are willing to chase Corillian Tramp Freighters into Asteroid
Belts and continue to fight even though over 65% of their squadron is dead due
to smashing into flying rocks!

I believe by this point, the fighters had come under fleet remote control; if
you look closely, you can see the pilots scratching on the cockpits
screaming for a course reversal. ;->=

Seriously, brave and dumb CAN go together, though most air arms try to wash
such folks out before they damage perfectly good craft. Perhaps turkey
dogfighting with a morale bonus, or least, no morale penalty?

And, if you want a REAL condemnation of Lucas, check out David Brin's comments
in a recent SciFi channel rag. And I thought *I* needed to cut
back on the coffee! ;->=

Check out Brin's "What's Wrong (and Right) with 'The Phantom Menace'" from
Salo n last year. Here's the URL:

My favourite line: "He is too old to train to be a Jedi." -- Uh, Yoda?
You say
6 is too old, but Luke Skywalker will be a doable fixer-upper at 20?
When do yo
u recruit novices -- ripping them from the breast, like the Psi Corps in
"Babyl on 5"? Does the Jedi Way require complete denial of normal childhood?
An odd me ssage for a kid flick!

Which brings up a point. If not using the fighter morale rules is in keeping
wi
th sci-fi movies and such, but as per Oerjan's contention fighters are
underpri ced without the morale rules, what SHOULD fighters cost without using
morale?

Peter, I thought the Star Wars article was pretty good myself. And bang on.

As for the fighter models, I was commenting on Oerjan's comment that fighters
c ost too little unless you use the morale rules. I was wondering how much
people on the list figured they were overpriced by.

Also, you're sending your messages as HTML, I think. I can read them fine on
my canada.com account but can't read them at home. You might want to set up
your mail reader to send only text to the list.
