Subject: Alternatives to test messages

As a couple of alternatives to test-please-ignore messages, how about:

1) To check that your mail is getting 'out', and that replies can get
'in':
Send a message to:

     Echo@TU-Berlin.DE

It should reply, including a copy of your message (including headers), quoted
using '>'.

[ There are probably other echo servers around, but this one seems to
work ok, and it's probably not worth listing others here]

2) To check that you're signed on to this mailing list: Send a message to:

As someone who just sent a test message, I was testing to see if MY mail
was still showing up on the list.  I know my e-mail works everywhere
else.

Test messages, while annoying, are necessary at times.
