Alternate Vehicle Design Philosophy

Has anyone used the FT ship design rules for an alternate means of
vehicle/mecha design ? I thought about using mass 10-50 for sizes 1-5.
And
mass 60-100 for oversize. Any thoughts on this ?

Lots of people ignore it, but FT is practically scale-less.  In short,
it is easy to say that a MASS 100 ship is not a heavy cruiser, it's just a
medium
3-man 2-droid fighter.  Or it's a 5-crew giant transforming robot.  Go
get em!
