Subject: Alternate history

Someone posted ages ago about having a history where the US was not taken over
by the UK, I've searched through the archives but obviously don't have the
correct search terms. Is there a URL with more information? I'm starting to do
PBeM with a friend in DC and he isn't happy about that part of the history and
would like to direct him to that information.

I am working on such a history, and I'll be ready to post it soon, it's a very
alternate history, with many of the power blocs we know not forming (and it's
a pain in ze arse coming up with ships for a US fleet)

Looks good to me. One thing about the US Fleet that both Bill (bstraycat) and
Richard (who works for DIA) suggested is that the US Fleet would be a carrier
based fleet. Richards suggestion was something similar
to a Jean D'arc but with NO offensive weaponry and 8-10 fighter
squadrons. Bill suggests the US fleet will be based around carriers and SCS
type ships.

Hello Roger and everyone,

When Roger brought up the subject, I went to updating my timeline page. I
changed the wording somewhat and inserted a link Brian's Expanded GZG History
page.

I still don't have any US fleet ships on the page as yet. My vision of the US
fleet carriers is very similar to Richard's. Lots of fighters and PDS,
various load-outs, and an escort group to make ya shiver. The carriers
stay as far away from the combat as possible.

I personally have my own game history that does not include a UK takeover...
In fact, in it, the UK is down to just England - Ireland, Scotland, and
Wales have all gone their merry Celtic ways. The story line that makes it
possible is a bit of a stretch, improbable but not impossible. Also, the US is
split up, but for the most part quite bloodlessly (At least at first). It's
not on any URL, but if you contact me off list, I'd be happy to explain the
whole setup.

What is a SCS? (A Space Control Ship?)
What how does it differ from Battleships/Carrier designs?

Hello Donald,

Essentially what I had in mind for a USA space control ship is what the rest
of the world calls an SDN, BDN, etc.
