Just unstuck a slew of messages. My apologies for not sending out a note that
I would be offline for a few days before it happened, but I went offline a bit
more suddenly than I thought I was going to. If I haven't said anything
before, your friendly neighborhood list admin just relocated to Austin TX
(well, I'm here. My stuff is still in a truck heading to a storage unit
someplace). So, if anyone has open games in Austin, please feel free to
contact me directly.:)

Ain't RL a b****?

Congrats on the relocation, assuming it's a new opportunity. I've never
heard Austin was much of a gaming town, though... ;->=

In spite of occasional attempts to the contrary, list maint is a thankless
task. No apologies necessary. Can we give the man a hurrah? Hip, hip...

As an aside, I'm back from Origins, and will claim consciousness after
tonight's sleep. Only ran into Mike, a former list regular; not to worry,
still enjoying gaming. Saw him a) playing Stargrunt for Star Wars, b)
G.A.S.L.I.G.H.T. in 54mm with one of the authors, and c) at the Iron Wind
booth, waxing lyric about sweet nuke subs both in waterline and full hull. BIG
grin every time.

Laters, all.

Eh? I picked up my gamerchick in Austin, so it's not all bad. Dragon's Lair,
on 49th and Burnet is a pretty decent game store and there is another one in
Round Rock.

Isn't Steven Jackson Games based in Austin? They're mostly/all RPGs, but
there's a significant crossover w/ wargaming, generally...

Aha! You fell into my clever trap to draw out info for Indy... ;->=

My comment WAS tongue-in-cheek. I've not been to Austin, but my
experience is that any Texas college town has an impressive number of rabid
gamers. Not sure the effect of having a capitol.

I wasn't sure SJ was in Austin. The gentleman is a pleasure to game with, I
can witness. I hope it's still as much fun for him today as it was when I met
him a couple of decades ago.

It has been said that Austin allows Texans to see Liberals in their native
surroundings.

Well, it _used_ to be... Wasn't Austin the home of Steve Jackson Games
back in the days when they put out Space Gamer? It may still be, for all I
know... From all the stuff in that mag, there seemed to be a thriving gaming
community in that city; don't ask me what the situation is now, though.

Phil, dating himself horribly... ;-)
