Most ships follow the 30:30:30:10 rule

30% Propulsion 30% Hull, Armour etc 30% Weaponry, FC etc

10% added to one of the three above (or split it).

Sorry for my ignorance, but where does the "BORON" bit come into it? I take it
its an acronym of some kind?

You can shave 10% off one of the 3 categories in some ships, and add 10%

to both of the others.

NSL - 20% P, 40% H, 40% F
FSE - 40% P, 30% H, 30% F
OU - 30% P, 40% H, 30% F

Yes, there's exceptions. Not every NSL ship has Thrust-2, nor every FSE
ship has Thrust-6. But it's a reasonable rule of thumb for a design
philosophy.

Cheers Alan! Always did like that movie. Its nice to see Jon's "inspired" OU
range being expanded at last. Like the Eureka stuff on their website, but
still can't wait to see the GZG versions.

Look on the periodic table, and you'll see Boron is the 5th Element.

If you've seen the film of that name, and the OU designs, all will become
clear.

While I was laid up last December, I shaved my wild, hairy head down to a
small, thin scalplock, similar to old pictures of cossacks.

Unfortunately, people keep saying "like the guy in The Fifth Element", which
caused me to print images off the web of Gary Oldman's character so I could
say "See, it covers half his scalp!"

Ok, the worst part is they keep saying "like the guy in The Fifth
Dimension"...

*shudder*

I'm not a huge Bruce Willis fan, and get pretty upset with the Humphrey Bogart
comparisons, but that movie IS a fun romp. I could see it appealing
to the Oz sense of humor. ;->=

I'm still embarassed about not making the connection with the OU ships. I've
only seen one 'in person', but should have figured it out from the piccies.
Oh, am I wrong that all the currently available OU's are
Eureka-generated? If so, apologies to all.

ona semi-related note: Our Kra'Vak player came to the
last halloween party as LeeLoo, though not in the
'bandage' phase...;-)

It's complicated because it's becoming kind of a "shared" range.... The
original OU ship designs are by Mike Broadbent, via Eureka (the 901, 905, 906,
908). I then did a simple DD conversion to make the 904 FF. Oerjan has made
the new BC (909) and BB (910), which will be released very soon by us (GZG).

Ok, about the way I figured, though, whatever the legal niceties, in my head
it'll always be the OU belongs to Eureka, the way FT belongs to you,
inspite of having to share it with a heck of a lot of us. ;->=
