A number of people have mentioned that they use 15mm, yet I've been labouring
under the distinct impression that 15mm SF was pretty much a dead duck
nowadays despite being pretty popular a few years back. So, let's have a quick
straw poll
- how many
people use 15mm for SG rather than 25mm?

I currently use 15mm for fantasy rules!, I'm in process on GZG 15 stuff for
SG, and my Star Wars stuff for SG2 is "galoob scale".:)

I have the 25mm Stargrunt minis, but I would greatly prefer to play using
15mm. I currently use 15mm fantasy minis for Armies of Arcana.

Me, I bought some old Martian Metals and found some Frikorps 15s, and am now
planning on buying some Irregular and Stan Johansen stuff as well, and
supplement it with some modern figures and vehicles, but I'd love for
Geo-Hex to carry GZG's 15! Any way I can direct order? Oh, and I also
found some 15s by another manufacturer who's name sadly escapes me.

As for 25s, well, I am going to get into that scale as well, the 15s I bought
to do some "Whatever" games as I term them, the 25s will be for my
own sci-fi background, which differs somewhat from the GZG background
(The US is still intact, for one)

We use 25-28mm mainly, in the small and irregular games of Stargrunt we
play.

I've got a few boxes of the Galoob figures. They come in as compatible with
15mm figs. They're a tad taller than my old Glory ACW 15's, but the *do*

fit very well on Azhanti High Lightning maps, which are 15mm. Now all I need
are some of the Stormtroopers...

When I eventually get around to buying SG...I would in theory prefer 15mm
instead of 25mm. Not that I've painted up my Later Crusaders from 3...oh Lord,
4 years ago now. Guess I should get to it soon.

The only game of SG2 that I've put together used large 15mm figures. And I
have a whole boatload of 15mm figures (old Traveller, modern, WW2, and earlier
periods) so I can safely say that it is my favorite scale...

I've have never been able to find a selection of ultra modern/Sci-Fi
15mm
minis. So, I've always used 25mm/28mm... I would love to use 15mm so I
could add some H Gear stuff and/or misc. toys I pick up.

If any one know a decent place to order 15mm (large selection) please let me
know. Also, I'm looking for old RAFM Heavy Gear vehicals and infantry.

I do - I've a scratch coy of GZG's NAC figures as mechanized infantry
and a vast horde of Irregular's PA, plus various smaller units & vehicles.

I'll re-post my rundown of all available 15mm SF figs that I know of.

I actually sold off most of my stuff -- largely Laserburn, but some of
the
really good Traveller figures as well -- a few years back. I saved
enough to field two good sized forces of about 50 men each. Both sides are
Partha figures, from the "Galactic Grenadier" days. I've also got a handful of
Laserburn vehicles, one HUGE Traveller tank, and some miscellaneous figures
for scenario purposes.

None of it, mind you, is painted right now -- other than some sample
figures, which came out rather nicely. I really ought to change that, as 15mm
would work really well on my tiny little gaming table.

Peter Pig do a very good range of Modern 15mm.

http://www.peterpig.demon.co.uk/range17.htm

Their SciFi range leaves a lot to be desired IMHO.

Also Irregular have just released a range of Modern US and Russians in 15mm
too althoguh i think I prefer the Peter Pig...

I still prefer teh GZG 15mm NAC and ESU but they are pretty much a
discontinued line unless you plead with Jon without any self respect....

I'd forgotten about one source of really nice 15mm figures -- probably
because they are not marketed or sold as such.

Simtac made three different packs of Insectoid Aliens for their 1/300
scale science fiction line. The figures are, however, ridiculously huge for
1/300. But they are perfect for 15mm. They look good, too -- compound
eyes, hunched shoulders, horns...very alien.
