There is one final resort to this sort of thing. No no I don't mean the Narn
bat squad..That would cruel and unusual punishment. If enough people complain
about this sort of crap the particular offender will be removed.

Frankly I presumed the first time it happened it was a newbie error. Twice
seemed either stupidity or what now appears to be total disregard for the
people on the list.

This is a pity. There seems to be a certain amount of this about here at the
moment.

Apart from anything else I did offer to make the file available from a web
site I have to spare. That would have sorted the problem out with none of this
sort of crap. Anyone on this list could do the same. Theres plenty of free
webspace available out there. None of these are hard to setup or use.

Anyway, I intend to make this site available to upload any files that may be
of interest to list members. No frills but the files should be easily
accessible.

Normally I wouldn't resort to this, but I'm a little pissed off. I emailed
Neil directly about not sending large attachments to the list because they
bogged down my server and that I really didn't like it, so why should I get
almost one megs worth of files on a topic that I didn't give a crud about.

I emailed him directly so that I wouldn't bog the list down but I thought that
this would express how Neil feels.

And Neil, if you appologized BEFORE your second post, why did you do it again?
If you appologized afterwards, did you stop to think that maybe I hadn't seen
it when I sent out my message? Didn't think so, otherwise you wouldn't be
sending messages like this out.

Sorry to bog the list down, but I think it is good to make the other list
members aware of Mr Morgan's attitude. Maybe I should post my 3 Meg ship
builder to the list.......(I won't)

'Nuf said.

Private email is meant to be private. Period. This list generates enough noise
as it is without this kind of crap going on.

Personally I don't care if there is an attachment or not, if it is too large I
don't DOWNLOAD it.

Possibly Larry you don't understand, some of us have to pay for those
attachments whether we choose to look at them or not. I'll put the last
incident down to newbieism. But in future I would hope that members on this
list will use a bit more discretion and only download to indivuduals who are
actually interested. Its bad enough that members choose to talk Off Topic all
the time (this message included), I put it all down to just thoughtless
exhibitionism.

This needs to be public. It affects all of us. DO NOT USE FILE ATTACHMENTS TO
THE LIST!!

Some of us, with more primitive (circa 1984!) computers, slow modems, and
ancient email software don't have this option. We get the privelege of waiting
hours for useless files to download just so we can immediately delete them. Or
we have to quit our email session, log into the command line on the server and
manually delete the offending email. Either way, it's a pain in the ass.

And for those of you who think I should just quit whining and get something
newer.... you are more than welcome to pay off my student loans.:P

Some of us, with modern computers and fast modems but a poorly organised ISP,
don't have this option either. I have to download all incoming mail in order
of arrival, and I don't even have the option of logging into the command line
on the server and do something about it myself. The ISP staff are the only
ones able to do that, and if it happens to be a weekend
(or,
even worse, a long holiday - eg Easter) I have to wait 'til the next
working day to download my email. With a mail traffic like mine that causes...
problems, like.

Mine too, please! :-)

OK. I'll try stop ranting now.
