Howdie,

Alright, I may be mad but I swear I saw these somewhere. Somebody had a

listing for Stormtroopers and Rebel Soldiers in 6mm. I can't remember who or
if they are even a current production item, but I'd love any clues that might
be floating out there.

I think Irregular does some Star Wars types in 6mm. You might start there.
Anyone else?

A model company (who's name I forget) produced a couple of kits- Battle
of
Hoth, and a Rebel Base kit. Both of those kits were roughly 1/300 and
had
about 40+ troops each (imperial and rebel). The Battle kit also had 3
snowspeeders (a bit too small compared to the infantry), 4 or so gun towers
(about right), 2 functional AT-ATs (they look pretty nice and are about
right in scale), 1 AT-ST (a bit small, but still okay) and a X-Wing with
its wings 'folded'. The other kit had a mixture of fighters (X and Y wings), a
Rebel transport and the Falcon (about 300 scale).

Both kits went for about $10 or so, and are pretty rough to find right now.
Good luck

A while back I posted Imperial and Rebel army lists for Hordes of the Things
at The Stronghold (http://www.btinternet.com/~alan.catherine/wargames/
strong. htm), but since then I've built full forces for DSII. I used stuff
from a variety of sources, chosen to get everything to roughly the same scale.
I started with the two types of Battletech infantry (can't remember which is
which now, but they are amazingly good matches to Imperial and Rebel
army uniforms, especially the helmets). ATATs are from the Galoob X-ray

series, ATSTs are Galoob Micromachines, and Stormtroopers are from the old
Ogre PanEuropean infantry. Irregular makes not-Stormtroopers but they
are way too small to fit with the other infantry. Snowspeeders and laser
towers are from the Battle on Ice Planet Hoth kit, Jawas and Rebel infantry on
tauntauns from Irregular. Fighter and bomber support came from Galoob Microma
chines. Never did find a good match for speeder bikes, so I used the
Irregular jet bikes. I also used the Irregular not-Darth, shimmed up so
he didn't look quite so much like Rick Moranis in Space Balls. Irregular also
makes some Rebel pilots, which serve as Luke and Han, a decent
not-Chewbacca
figure, and some bounty hunters. I had lots of fun with the HOTT games, but
haven't actually been able to play a DSII game with the stuff yet. Jed

I have several of these - the X Wings went to aeromechs for Battle Tech,
the Y wings got chopped up to make "Clipper" ships for Traveller: the New Era,
the infantry get used in just about every 6mm game I play, the "props" some
control panels, and a vacu-formed terrain piece - Rebel Base also has a
Blockade runner starship which I have used as a small dropship in Battletech
and Dirtside. You get better chicken walkers from Galoob sets and they make
"A" wing fighters and several Star Wars style ships that have chooped up and
made a fair selection of Full Thrust ships and for Traveller:TNE as well.

BTW Beth, there's also an army for Daleks somewhere on that page, IIRC.

Not certain how, but you can see the copy I got below has an unexpected space
in the url.

To save a lot of head scratching for those as unobservant as myself, I put the
corrected url above. That is, hoping the
mysterious edit doesn't happen above. ;->=

Thanks for the heads up, LL!

I've done well at both but Saturday I picked up some more Micromachine figures
at Kaybee, 2 packages for $5. Jawas, SandPeople, and Stormtroopers, 9 to a
package. Cool!! Instant armies for DS2/SG2 with out painting.

I've also been picking up some other stuff on clearance, including a large
size
(3 3/4 inch figure size) AT-AT. When I get some free time there's going
to be a digital picture with a crushed snowspeeder under foot.

As long as we're talking senario ideas for the masses, here's one based on
some of the Star Wars pieces I've bought recently: In the middle of the table
is a escape pod. Moving west at 3" a turn are two droids. Capture them. Other
players will be attempting the same. The players: Jawas SandPeople with Bantha
StormTroopers with Dewback

Pictures to follow as soon as the convention is over. (My company is sending
me to the National Association of Broadcasters. Me and 120,000 of my closest
friends in Las Vegas. Preparations are driving everyone here NUTS!)
