Along with my recently acquired taste for all things Traveller, I've also
developed quite a taste for 2300 AD as well. I was wondering if any had come
up with any 2300 AD conversions for SGII.
Later,
Not exactly what you asked for, but it might help:

Well, I also play DSII, so this is a help.
BTW, is it MY imagination, or does Jon's Rommel hover tank look like the
2300 AD's LkPZ-IX?

If you ain't got imagination, you on the wrong list, buddy <g>
Read through the Colonial Marines Tech Manual for Alien sometime and you'll
understand 2300AD much better... Or vice-versa.

Got it, read it (several times), loved it.

Mark if you can find it the 2300 source book "Invasion" is a great campaign
for everything from Full Thrust to Stargrunt. Give a great background story
and time line with pretty good force brake down.
Another good one is the "Kafer Source Book" I'm using it now for doing up a
force of the bad guys. I'm going to try and mold them up (3rd attempt) so
don't anyone hold their breath..) But if I get this to work I'll have a unique
race for SGII in 15mm.
If you want to work on 2300AD (non-canon but wholly reasonable) forces,
have a look at
http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~dheb/2300/index.htm
There has also been considerable discussion of Kafer units, but I don't think
a formal article has been posted anywhere yet.

As an example of convergent evolution, check out the Nelson; similar to
certain UNSC ships.
I thought someone had done conversion rules for the stutterwarp; it's not THAT
different from cinematic, is it?
On the other hand, I seem to recall the weapon systems hierarchy had a much
finer granularity than FT.
Oh, merde, another trek to excavate the basement...

Does Invasion have a TO&E for most of the armed forces of the 2300 AD
universe?

Invasion covers space forces in some detail, ground forces are mostly glossed
over.
More detailed ground orbats are in other books:
Aurore Source book: French, Tanstaffl (an independant colony) plus some stuff
on the Ukranians Operation Overlord: US Marines
There was also some stuff on the US Marines in various Challenge articles
(which I have somewhere)
The best web source which covers the topic is probably
http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~dheb/2300/index.htm
and the "pre-release" site
http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~dheb/2300/notice.htm
Stuff on this site is content that is being considered for the main site.
There is some other stuff on the files section of the related Yahoo group
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/etranger/
